Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting an event exploring the topic of sustainable shipping under the theme “Green shipping and lowering emissions”. The event took place in Rio de Janeiro and was hosted in collaboration with Ultrabulk. The evening featured three informative lectures, each exploring different aspects of sustainable shipping.

Refinaria de Petroleo Riograndense showcased Brazil’s pioneering biorefinery project and sustainable product developments, followed by Petrobras, who led a debate on initiatives aimed at reducing emissions in maritime transport. As a final perspective, Ultrabulk shared key insights on ammonia-fuelled vessels, representing a significant stride towards eco-friendly shipping practices. This topic can be explored further here.

The event was attended by more than 120 people from the local shipping community, all showing great engagement in the topic. Furthermore, employees from Ultranav and Ultrabulk flew in from around the world to participate in the event and join the debate. It was a significant event that fostered valuable discussions among attendees, focusing on the future of emissions reduction and emphasizing the essential role each member of the maritime community plays in achieving a sustainable and environmentally responsible industry.

Thank you to all who participated in the discussions and contributed to valuable insights on our collective goal towards sustainable shipping.
