These weeks our entire organisation is involved in an internal sustainability initiative centered around our guiding principle: “Every ton counts” to bring us closer to the goal of net zero emissions.
A few weeks ago, all our shipowning businesses gathered in Chile to discuss different perspectives on the subject and generate suggestions to enhance the sustainability of our company and practices. This week, employees from the operating businesses met in Germany for a similar event. A total of 100 colleagues from different parts of the organisation joined in. Our goal is to stay ahead of this energy transition and to propel energy efficiency measures by gathering our collective knowledge, perspectives and opinions on how we can reduce CO2 emissions and move closer to achieving net zero emissions. Topics included among others future fuels, carbon removals, software and AI, emerging technologies, energy saving devices, crew training, regulation and much more.
We had the pleasure of having multiple external speakers joining our event, and sharing their knowledge and perspectives. A special thanks to our external speakers from American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), CMB.TECH, Drax Group, Lloyd’s Register, MAN Energy Solutions, and ZeroNorth for your valuable insights and inspiration, and thanks to all our passionate colleagues from Antares Naviera S.A. – parte del grupo Ultranav, Cape Tankers, Clean Products Tankers Alliance (CPTA), Horizon, Humboldt Shipmanagement, International Shipowning, Navigator Gas, Navitranso, Oslo Bulk, Ultrabulk A/S, Ultranav, Ultranav Chile, Ultratank, and ULTRATUG who contributed with their knowledge and experiences.
Together we can make a difference.
